"Materializes the Soma of Our Formed and Formless Multiplicities": The A.M. Klein Prize Jury's Comments for Prathna Lor's Emanations
We are thrilled that Prathna Lor’s poetry collection, Emanations, was a finalist for the A.M. Klein Prize for Poetry!
Here are the judge’s comments about what makes Emanations such a striking collection:
"Emanations irrupts into the complex space between speaker and receiver. Lor materializes the soma of our formed and formless multiplicities through explosive compression and double-entendre. This collection is poetry at its most provocative — that is, these poems provoke a response in me that is not interpretive but neurochemical and spiritual. I am bewildered (in the Fanny Howe sense) by how the words make me feel, and how these feelings are entirely distinct from understanding them, which is the power of music."
