Kathryn Kuitenbrouwer Longlisted for Scotiabank Giller Prize

Join us in congratulating Kathryn Kuitenbrouwer! Kathryn’s novel, Wait Softly Brother, has been longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize.

The Giller recognizes excellence in Canadian fiction – long format or short stories – and awards a cash prize annually of $25,000 the largest purse for literature in the country. Awards like the Giller help continue to grow literary talent in Canada.

The longlist was selected by an esteemed panel of five judges: Canadian authors Ian Williams (jury chair, 2019 Scotiabank Giller Prize winner), Sharon Bala, Brian Thomas Isaac, American author Rebecca Makkai and British-Indian writer Neel Mukherjee.

The shortlist will be announced on Wednesday, October 11 at 10:30 a.m. EDT via the Scotiabank Giller Prize’s Facebook page and the winner will be announced on Monday, November 13 at 9:00 p.m. EST on CBC and CBC Gem.
