Spring 2019: What We've Been Up To

It’s been a busy spring here at Wolsak & Wynn so we have fallen behind on updating our news here. But that means we have several things to share all at once!

First, please join us in congratulations Dani Couture for shortlisting in the Pat Lowther Memorial Award and to Julie McIsaac for longlisting in Gerald Lampert Memorial Award. Find out more about their collections Listen Before Transmit and We Like Feelings. We Are Serious.

Rabindranath Maharaj’s dystopian Adjacentland also shortlisted for the Foreword INDIES Award for Adult Literary Fiction. Congratulations, Robin!

JonArno Lawson’s But It’s So Silly: A Cross-Cultural Collage of Nonsense, Play and Poetry is named one of The 2018 Lion and Unicorn Award for Excellence in North American Poetry Honor Books. Congratulations to JonArno!

Finally, we want to briefly mention that our Managing Editor Ashley Hisson and Editorial Assistant Jen Rawlinson attended the EPUB Accessibility Workshop provided by NNELS and presented by Lisa Snider this past March. This is in an effort to expand our accessibility and compatibility with assistive devices like screen readers. We are excited to take the lessons learned from the workshop and apply them to both our ebooks and web presence moving forward.

One last thing: don’t forget to join us on May 21st at our Spring Launch in Toronto. Once again, we will be holding it in the Melody Bar at the Gladstone Hotel launching some beautiful collections of poetry, engaging novels and timely non-fiction.
