Catherine Graham and Robert Priest gain recognition!

Two Wolsak and Wynn authors have been recognized for their poetry.

Catherine Graham’s collection The Celery Forest has been shortlisted for the 2018 Fred Cogswell Award for Excellence in Poetry. Fred Cogswell (1917-2004) was a prolific poet, editor, professor, life member of the League of Canadian Poets and an Officer of the Order of Canada. This year’s awards were judged by Miranda Pearson, an editor, teacher and poet based in Vancouver. Her work has been published in The Bright Well: Contemporary Canadian Poems about Facing Cancer and Forcefield: 77 Women Poets of British Columbia. She is the winner of the Alfred G. Bailey Award in 2006.

Robert Priest’s book The Wolf is Back has been awarded the Gold Medal in Children’s Poetry for the 2018 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards. According to the Moonbeam Awards’ website, “the awards are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary children’s books and their creators, and to celebrate children’s books and life-long reading.” The awards are judged by a panel of youth educators, librarians, booksellers and book reviewers.

Please join us in congratulating our very talented authors!
