Hamilton Arts Week: Ross Belot

  • online Hamilton, ON (map)

Ross Belot’s work explores the complexity of living in our modern fossil fuel based society from the perspective of someone who worked in the industry and who cares about the upcoming climate catastrophe. He will read material from his latest poetry collection, Moving to Climate Change Hours, published by Hamilton’s own Wolsak and Wynn, as well as some of his Canada Council for the Arts funded videos based on selected poems from that collection.

His poetry was a finalist for the CBC poetry prize, the book named as one of the best poetry books for 2020 in Canada by the CBC. His video work has been selected for the 9th Annual International Video Poetry Festival in Athens, Greece.

Whilst we celebrate the incredible presentations during Hamilton Arts Week, and the impressive resilience of Hamilton’s creative community - Hamilton Arts Council invites you to participate in SAVE THE ARTS, an initiative to highlight the amazing groups and orgs that deliver arts programming across the Hamilton region.
