Gary Barwin is the Creative Writing & Publishing Writer-in-Residence at Sheridan College for 2020-2021. Poet, novelist, and composer, Barwin is the author of more than 25 books of fiction and poetry. His bestselling novel Yiddish for Pirates won the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour and the Canadian Jewish Literary Award, and was shortlisted for both the Giller and Governor General’s Awards in 2016. Please join Sheridan College for a reading from his work-in-progress and a discussion of his approach to writing fiction. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
