Gary Barwin and Christine Fischer Guy at the Mattawa Writers Festival

  • Boneshaker Reading Series 1748 Saint Clair Avenue West Toronto, ON, M6N 1J3 Canada (map)

6:30 pm –  Gary Barwin author of For it is a Pleasure and a Surprise to Breath: New and Selected Poems. April is National Poetry Month and it will be poetic to listen to Gary’s poems behind a hedge.

8 pm –  Christine Fischer Guy author of The Umbrella Mender. As the sun is setting we’re going to join Christine in her backyard for an evening reading. Her first novel transports us to 1950s Moose Factory, where a beleaguered staff of the local hospital are fighting to stem the tide of tuberculosis among the indigenous peoples of the North.
