Julie Salverson is a third-generation Canadian writer and a retired professor of Drama at Queen's University. Her grandmother, Laura Goodman Salverson, won two Governor General's Literary Awards (1937, 1939). Her father, George Salverson, wrote over 1000 radio plays and television scripts, received several awards, and was the first television drama editor for the CBC.
In this book, Julie discusses how finding her late father's private notebooks, written during his trip around the world to gather material for a 1963 CBC documentary on World Hunger, uncovered a whole new side of her father for her, and the joys and struggles of integrating this new knowledge into her known family history. She also talks about early CBC radio drama.
