Sit down with Sally Cooper as she discusses With My Back to the World, a novel that features three unique women Rudie, Ellen and Agnes whose interconnected stories explore society’s, and our own, ideas of what it means to be a woman, a mother and an artist as those concepts change over time.

One of these women, Agnes Martin, is the subject of the documentary Agnes Martin: Before the Grid, which will be screened after Sally’s talk.
